SAUGERTIES, N.Y. -- Garlic lovers gather in the Hudson Valley this weekend for the annual Garlic Festival in Saugerties.
The festival kicked off on Saturday at the Cantine Veterans Memorial Complex. This year marks the 25th year for the festival. Visitors sampled unique garlic foods and recipes, including garlic ice cream, garlic flavored peanut butter, and garlic fried dough.
According to organizers, the festival continues to grow every year.
"We've had people here from Australia, a lady who blogged about us was from the Phillipines, so from all over the world, and New Jersey, Long Island. They all make the trek up to this event," said Beth Bechtold, Garlic Festival Publicity Chair.
All proceeds from the event benefit the community. For more information, head to hvgf.org.
