COLONIE, N.Y. -- The 10th annual Crossing's 5K Challenge and Kid Fun Run kicked off Sunday morning. Hundreds of people laced up their sneakers to benefit the Colonie Youth Center.
Runners and walkers participated in the 5K. For the kids, there was a quarter mile fun race and a timed race.
Sunday's events were held to raise money for the Colonie Youth Center's programs and family services.
"The money is raised for their counseling program and their school programs, but the actual overall theme is health and wellness. Get the families out, get them running, get them enjoying the outside, fresh air and staying in shape," said race director Richard Slesman.
Complimentary massages and stretching tips were offered by the staff from the CYC’s Ciccotti Center, along with music and entertainment for the kids.
