SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Over a month after cheating allegations at the 144th running of the Travers Stakes, the New York State Gaming Commission says Luis Saez did not carry any sort of electrical device.
Eric Guillot, trainer of second place finisher Moreno, filed a complaint with the Commission one week after the Travers, accusing winning jockey Luis Saez of using some form of electric device on his horse, Will Take Charge, during the stretch run. But the Gaming Commission released its findings, saying there is no evidence of Saez using any device.
The Commission looked at a number of things including the performance and behavior of the horse, Saez's conduct and his reputation among other jockeys.
