SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - It's an up hill battle for a young man recovering from a serious head and neck injury, but friends and family are working to make that battle a little bit easier.
Trevor Comeau was on vacation with his girlfriend in Jamaica three years ago when he suffered a traumatic head and neck injury, leaving him paralyzed.
Friends and family organized 'The What Would Trevor Do Run N' Roll 5-K' to raise money to help pay for uninsured medical expenses.
Comeau has been receiving therapy at different rehab programs around the country.
He's hoping with the money raised he'll be able to attend a program in California again that helped him tremendously.
"I've gone from a power wheel chair to a manual wheel chair. Gone from needing assistance in everything, like transferring, eating, bathing, everything to being able to help in all of those things", Comeau said.
Comeau hopes to head back to California for the 'Project Walk' program in January or February of next year.
