EDINBURG, N.Y. -- An Edinburg highway department employee was killed after he was hit by a car driven by his boss.
According to police, highway superintendent Wayne Seelow was backing up his pickup truck on King Road and hit Richard Laport, 69. They said Seelow recalled driving over a bump, and eventually realized Laport was underneath the truck.
Seelow said he did not see Laport behind the truck.
Police said there was no indication of drugs or alcohol. Seelow has not been charged.
