ALTAMONT, N.Y. -- Father James LeFebvre received a surprise when he arrived to a blessing ceremony at the Angel of Serenity Garden in Altamont on Wednesday.
He was honored with a plaque recognizing his years of service as the Chaplin for the Albany Police Department and the FBI in Albany. Father LeFebvre said he was shocked and grateful for the recognition.
"I will have to get my revenge later on. This was all a complete surprise. I always feel very comfortable this is all family and they didn't share this with me before hand. I want to thank all of them, our law enforcement family,'' said Father LeFebvre.
He has also served as Chaplin for the Northeast Chiefs of Police Association. Father LeFebvre was was ordained on May 23, 1959 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.
