SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- One man is hospitalized after a stabbing in Schenectady.
According to police, Louis Smith, 33, approached a woman he recognized as one of his friends. However, he did not know the woman and an altercation occurred. Officers said Smith was stabbed several times in the stomach and arm.
It happened early Friday morning on the corner of Orchard Street and Third Avenue in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood. Police said Smith was able to flag down a driver for help.
The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center and is listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made.
