ALBANY, N.Y. -- The man who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a child has been sentenced to four years in state prison, followed by 10 years of post release supervision.
Earlier this year, Edward Tubbs, 22, admitted to sexually abusing a child at the New York State Museum. The victim was at the New York State museum for a field trip. Tubbs went into the bathroom while the victim's mother waited outside. That's when Tubbs abused the child.
Albany County District Attorney David Soares says he's pleased with the sentence.
"It accomplished removing him from the community and it also accomplished the goal of having to spare the victim from coming in and testifying in an open court, which is very difficult for children," Soares said.
Tubbs must also register as a sexual offender upon his release from State Prison.
