ALBANY, N.Y. -- If it seems like the color pink is everywhere lately, it's for a good cause. But National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is more than just pink ribbons and t-shirts this October.
Albany Medical Center marks this month's awareness campaign with a series of events. Wednesday featured Breast Reconstruction Awareness. The event, dubbed "Bra," took place at the Hilton Garden Inn in Albany. It was to help women learn about breast cancer treatment options.
"It is to make women and the public aware of breast cancer re-construction. That's what the 'R' stands for, re-construction," said organizer Debra Giagni.
The event was the second this month.
'Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk,' the third event this October, is scheduled for this Sunday. For more information on the walk, visit www.makingstrides.org.
