SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Schenectady police are reminding residents to keep their doors and windows locked following three burglaries in the city.
Police say the incidences happened between the Stockade area and Wendell Avenue late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning. Police say the suspect or suspects got into the homes by removing a window screen and then crawling in.
"It shows that it's more of a brazen crime to actually enter someone's house when they are actually there. So where working diligently along with our detective divisions, our crime evidence unit that went and collected evidence from the scene and all three of us are working diligently together to see if we can come up with any leads or as many leads as possible to act quickly," said Schenectady Police Sergeant Matthew Dearing.
Detectives are now reviewing neighborhood surveillance cameras. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Schenectady Police Department’s TIPS line at 788-6566.
