ROTTERDAM, N.Y. -- Friends and family come together to raise money for Brandon Aveyard, 28, who was injured in a motorcycle crash in California back in July.
With the help of Curry Freeze, a Rotterdam ice cream shop, Brandon's family put this fundraiser together to pay for his medical bills.
Brandon went to school in the area but moved to California in 2007. His family hopes to raise enough money to move him closer to home.
"We're just trying to raise money to get him home. He's still in a coma to this day and we just want to bring him home because we think he can get better care in New York and be with his family," said Samantha Gilman, who is Brandon Avegard's sister.
Brandon's family says they're grateful for the outpouring of support from the community
