One teen is dead and two others were injured after a crash early Sunday morning. YNN's Meredith Zaritheny has more.
PAWLING, N.Y.-- One teen is dead and two others were hurt after a crash on the boarder of Dutchess and Putnam County early Sunday morning.
Dutchess County Sheriff's deputies say the crash happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Route 292 in the Town of Pawling. A memorial for with flowers and candles marks the scene of the crash.
Deputies say Kevin Taylor, 17, of Holmes, had two passengers in his car when he lost control.
Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other passengers were taken to Danbury Hospital in Connecticut for non-life threatening injuries.
"He was traveling south bound on Route 292 at excessive speed. He spun, the car spun, left the roadway and struck a utility pole hit several trees before coming to rest," said Captain John Watterson.
Captain Watterson also says speed was the main factor in the crash.
