ALBANY, N.Y.-- The New York State Office of General Services (OGS) presented a check for more than $10,000 to the Northeast Kidney Foundation on Monday.
More than 40 volunteers poured beverages during concerts and festivals at the Empire State Plaza over the summer. As part of the partnership, OGS donated a portion of the profits.
The executive director of the foundation says the money will help thousands of patients.
"It is a chance we would not of had other wise. The public exposure we got from the event was great and now the money we will channel right back is wonderful," said Northeast Kidney Foundation Executive Director Carol LaFleur.
The Northeast Kidney Foundation provides support services for patients, including free kidney screenings and emergency grants to help pay for medical, transportation and housing needs.
