ALBANY, N.Y. -- Crews responded to a fire in downtown Albany Tuesday night on First Street.
Firefighters said they had a difficult time getting into some of the doors and windows because mattresses and other household items were blocking the way. According to crews on the scene, the home at 323 First Street will likely be demolished.
"We had fire from the top to the bottom in the rear of the structure and extending into the structure," said Albany Deputy Fire Chief Frank Nerney. "Crews worked their way inside, but found the building was unsafe to go in an attack the fire."
Nobody was hurt, and the cause remains under investigation.
