TOWN OF FLORIDA, N.Y. -A local author and radio DJ is releasing his third book, highlighting The Mohawk Valley.
Bob Cudmore's "The Hidden History of the Mohawk Valley," tells different stories about the area's past, like the 'Baseball Oracle' and the 'Mohawk Encampment." Cudmore met with fans Friday morning at the South 30 Diner in the Town of Florida to sign copies of his book. A native of Amsterdam, Cudmore says he writes about the area's history to keep the stories of important people and places, alive.
"Deals with stories such as photo shoots in 1941 where this man who became a rather famous photographer came to Amsterdam and takes all these sort of gritty pictures of the water front and stories about people like the weatherman, cousin george, who based his forecasts on the cycles of the moon," says Cudmore.
You can pick up a copy of the book at your local bookstore, or online at Amazon.com.
