MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- Halloween isn't just for kids anymore; dogs are also joining in on the holiday fun.
Dogs and their owners came out to Middletown's Pets Alive Sanctuary dressed as bees, witches, and fairies.
The Howl-o-ween party featured a costume parade with prizes awarded to the scariest, funniest, and most creative costumes. And the event is not just about dressing up.
The sanctuary hopes it will also get people interested in adopting one of their many animals.
"This is a way to invite the community into Pets Alive. We give them tours of our camp Tyler which is our outdoor kennel and so it's definitely a good way for them to see who we are, what we're about, invite other friends back and maybe possibly come back and adopt themselves. It's definitely a way to get our name out into the community," said Perez, Executive Director for Pets Alive.
And if you have photos of your dog or child dressed up for Halloween, we want to see them!
Send your pictures to photos at ynn.com, or you can send them to us on either Facebook or Twitter.
We'll feature them in a gallery on our web site.
