ALBANY, N.Y. -- Albany Medical Center President and CEO has announced a more than $15 million donation for the hospital. The gift is the largest in the institution's history.
The money is going toward the Medical Center's $125 million capital campaign to support medical education, research and patient care.
Donations received during the campaign have also gone toward building the new Patient Pavilion, which became fully operational earlier this month.
"It's really, really quite top notch. I've lived here for over 40 years and I can say that this improvement in the hospital has really been impressive," said Shirley Arensberg, a breast cancer survivor.
The donation brings the total given to the campaign to just over $106 million.
