The mother accused of hiring strippers for her son's birthday party has asked for more time to decide if she wants this case to go to trial. YNN's Megan Cruz has the latest.
MOREAU, N.Y. -- The mother accused of hiring strippers for her teenager's birthday party appeared in court on Thursday.
Attorneys for Judy Viger asked for more time to decide to accept a plea deal or go to trial. She faces five counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Viger has been accused of hiring strippers for her 16-year-old's birthday party last year. The party was held at the Spare Time Bowling Center in Glens Falls in November.
According to Viger's attorney, Joseph Brennan, she only arranged for "bikini grams" where two women were to wish a Happy Birthday to her son wearing bikinis. When that started to get out of control, Brennan said his client stopped it.
If convicted, Viger could face one year in prison.
