SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A woman has been charged with animal cruelty after police say she was caught abusing her dog during an event to protect animals. It happened during the annual Animal Protective Foundation Fireplug 500 Walk for Animals at Central Park in Schenectady last month.
Police say a witness spotted Dana Jarvis, 40, punching the dog in the head during the animal walk.
Jarvis was arrested and charged with animal cruelty. She is due back in Schenectady City Court in November.
