ELLENVILLE, N.Y. -- The Pine Plains football season kicked off on Friday night with a somber start.
The game comes after a recent car crash that killed two students, and injured two others. Zachary Pruner, 16, and Gian Paolo Stagnaro, 17, were killed in the crash.
Although Pine Plains lost their first game, and the community continues the grieving process, the support from friends, family and the community has been overwhelming.
"The entire football community, a lot of teams have reached out to us, offered prayers and thoughts and asked if they could do anything and i just wanted to say thank you," said the football coach.
Dustin Hale, 16, and Niall Johnson, 16, were also injured in the crash.
