KINGSTON, N.Y. -- The town of Kingston celebrated its 325th anniversary on Saturday.
The town was founded in 1688. There are currently about 900 residents within the town limits. Although the town used to encompass a larger area, residents say it makes for a tight knit community.
"The volunteers have been the residents, they're wonderful people. We formed a committee a year ago to organize and they just would come to meetings and do all the parts to put this together. It's really a special town," said Paul Landi, Town of Kingston Supervisor.
The event featured food, music, and performances. There were also history lessons from town historians.
