KINGSTON, N.Y. -- People in Ulster County bowled for a good cause on Sunday.
The fourth annual Bowling for Brains Fundraiser benefits the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. It was created in memory of Barry Junta. He was a Kingston man who passed away from a brain aneurysm in 2008.
Junta's sister has been dedicated to raising awareness about the medical condition that is often undetected until it's too late.
"When he passed away, I had never heard of it before. So just trying to get everyone out there and open up, they're silent killers," noted Heidi Ferry, organizer.
Ferry said it is important to listen to your body when it comes to aneurysms. Be sure to follow up with your doctor if you are experiencing headaches, or if someone in your family has suffered from an aneursym.
