NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- The Taste of New Paltz drew thousands of people to the region on Sunday.
The 23rd annual event offered a wide variety of food and wine. The Taste of New Paltz is held to showcase the region's best restaurants, wineries, and farmer's market products.
According to the New Paltz Chamber of Commerce, nearly 8,000 people attended this year's event. They said it helps to promote tourism in the area.
"We're trying to do things outside the box and add value to our membership
and give back to the community like we're supposed to. And that's one of the things that we're out here doing through the taste of New Paltz people come in from out of town, see what we're about and hopefully they stay here," explained Pete Ingellis, Director of New Paltz Business Development and Sales.
All of the money raised at the event will benefit the Chamber of Commerce.
