SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- A $20,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to an arrest in multiple thefts at racing museums across the state.
In September, there was a theft at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs. Earlier this year, there was a similar theft at the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Goshen.
Police believe the two thefts are related. Although no suspects are in custody at this time, police said they are making progress in the case. Multiple agencies are working together on the investigation.
"They are all absolutely mortified over the fact that this burglary, and similar burglaries have occurred, and somebody is trying to devalue the history of the items that were stolen. So they're all on board, everyone is trying to help," said Lt. John Catone, Saratoga Springs Police Department.
New York State Police investigators said they are looking at surveillance footage from the Saratoga Springs burglary. More than a dozen cameras are place throughout the building.
