WOODBURY, N.Y. -- The man police said was involved in a fatal hit and run in June appeared in Orange County Court on Monday morning.
Luis Munoz, 25, was charged with two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, and two counts of manslaughter.
According to New York State Police, Munoz was driving drunk when he hit a motorcycle carrying two people in Woodbury. Rafaelito DeJesus, 23, and Melissa Rupa, 24, were both killed.
Troopers said Munoz fled the scene, but officers caught up with him shortly after. He had a blood alcohol content of .15 percent.
Munoz is currently being held in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
