LLOYD, N.Y. -- A Highland man is facing serious charges after police say he caused thousands of dollars in damage to the clubhouse at Sunnybook Townhomes in Ulster County.
Police say Kyle Fisher-Hertz, 23, broke into the clubhouse by climbing through a ceiling air duct. While making his way through the air duct, police say it collapsed, sending him falling at least 10 feet through the ceiling tiles landing on the ground below, causing at least $2,000 in damage.
"Apparently the individual scaled the fence on the property, got himself on to the roof of the clubhouse and made his way through the air ventilation duct, at which point he fell through the ceiling, down into the kitchen area, where he was found by one of the staff," said Lt. James Janso of the Town of Lloyd Police Department.
Fisher-Hertz was arrested Sunday and charged with felony burglary and criminal mischief. He was found inside the building with no apparent injuries.
