CORNWALL, N.Y. -- St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital is cutting 60 positions in an effort to deal with operating losses.
According to a media spokesperson, it will affect 30 to 35 employees, less than three percent of the work force. They are eliminating other positions that were currently vacant.
Officials say the cuts should save $3.2 million.
The hospital is projecting a $10 million operating loss this year and have already proposed cutback of emergency room hours.
The layoffs are effective as of Thursday.
