KINGSTON, N.Y. - Fans filled the bleachers as marching bands took to the field for a competition Sunday in Kingston.
Four bands competed in the New York State Field Band Conference at Dietz Stadium, including the Kingston Tiger Marching Band.
They are currently in second place in the Large School 2 Division and have one performance left before their grand finale at the Syracuse Carrier Dome.
Nick Avossa, the Kingston Tiger Marching Band Director said "The whole marching thing in Kingston has always been a thing that's been strong. It's always been here whether it's summertime, drum core, the Kingston Indians, whatever it is. It just keeps it going all year round and gives us a real, real, real public face."
Money raised from selling tickets for the performance goes toward the Kingston High School band booster.
