MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. -- It's an American past time on Sunday afternoons; Football. This Sunday, the Middletown Police Department took on the Middletown Fire Department, in a Charity Game.
It was the 2nd annual "Bravest versus Finest" Charity flag football game. Twenty members from both the city police and fire departments took to the field at Twin Towers Middle School.
Aside from the fun, Middletown's finest and bravest also used the game as a fundraiser. This year, funds from the game are benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
But the game also gives those who are the first to respond to an emergency, a chance to get to know each other.
"Everybody gets along; it's actually strengthened the bond between the Police and Firefighters. We're coming together a lot more, we're doing a lot of things together, joking, having a good time. It's a family event and that's what it's about," said Theron Adkins, Middletown Firefighter.
Organizers hope they will raise over $2,000.
