DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro announced his 2014 budget proposal.
The $411 million budget plan includes spending cuts totaling $1.6 million. Molinaro says the proposal also calls for around seven layoffs and a less than one percent property tax increase.
The County Executive says he also repealed the current sales tax exemption on residential energy sources to help close part of the $27 million budget gap the county is facing.
Molinaro says he is also promoting clean energy, offering sales tax exemption on purchases of new equipment.
