LATHAM, N.Y. -- If you've passed through the Latham Circle recently, then you've seen a whole lot of construction. The state is working on revamping the roads surrounding the circle and the Latham Circle Mall is a pile of rubble.
The old mall was torn down this spring to make way for the "Shoppes at Latham Circle."
But with a sign displaying the new "Shoppes at Latham" coming in the fall of 2013 and no construction being done currently on the site, many are wondering, will the new mall be done in time?
"I thought Dick's Sporting Goods was coming in the fall. But it's possible, plans change, things take a little longer sometimes. The most important thing, is the old mall is down, it's been demolished. The old mall is gone and new life will be here," said Colonie Town Supervisor Paula Mahan.
Our calls to the Boston-based developer have not been returned at this time.
When the mall first came down, the developer said they hoped to have one store open by October and to have the whole mall up and running by next spring.
