WATERFORD, N.Y. -- A Waterford man faces drug charges after police responded to a call for a man who locked himself in the bathroom.
According to police, they received a call from the Stewart's on Middletown Road on Tuesday night. James Cerqua, 23, locked himself in the bathroom for more than an hour, and refused to answer the door.
When officers arrived, Cerqua opened the door and police discovered a hypodermic instrument and empty packets commonly used for packaging heroin.
Cerqua was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, and criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument.
