GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. -- Parkhurst Field was a field of dreams Saturday as some big names from the baseball world took to the diamond for a vintage ball game.
Local baseball buffs hosted the event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of a famous exhibition game at the field that featured Hall of Famer Chief Bender.
Former Yankee pitcher and "Ball Four" author Jim Bouton, along with World Series-winning manager Jack McKeon were among those taking part in the vintage game.
A ceremony was held after the game to dedicate a marker that will signify that baseball has been played at the field since 1906.
