HUDSON, N.Y. -- Following an audit by the New York State Comptroller's Office, the former president of a fire company in Columbia County stole nearly $34,000 from the company.
According to police, Joseph Morrison was the former president of C.H. Evans Hook and Ladder Fire Company in Hudson. They said Morrison used the company's debit card to buy electronics, jewelry, pornography, bunk beds, an aquarium, power tools, and more.
In addition, the auditors estimate Morrison may have stolen nearly $6,000 worth of fundraising donations.
Morrison plead guilty to grand larceny. He is due back in Columbia County Court next March.
