SHANDAKEN, N.Y. -- A home was destroyed following a fire in the Town of Shandaken.
Ulster County 911 received several calls for a fire at 560 Route 42 Wednesday afternoon. Crews had to use a five inch water supply line and also called in water tankers from West Hurley and Woodstock.
"Due to the remote location and lack of water, the fire got a pretty good head way. As you can see, there are multiple mutual aid companies here, water being a first priority," said Tom Planz, Deputy Coordinator of the Ulster county Fire Bureau.
There is still no word on how the fire started and no one was hurt.
