DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Bard College is offering an alternative to the standard college application process this fall.
High school seniors will now have the chance to write their way in. The New York Times reports that high school seniors can write four papers, each 2,500 words, based on topics and resources provided by Bard College. If the papers meet a high enough standard, the student is accepted, even if they do not have the best high school transcripts.
Bard will continue to use the standard application process as well.
