Hundreds of protesters arrested
ST. PAUL, MN. -- Hundreds of protesters are facing charges after a peaceful anti-war protest near the site of the Republican’s convention turned violent.
Police arrested nearly 300 self-described anarchists Monday night just outside the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Pepper spray had to be used to break up the crowd.
The protesters are accused of harassing delegates, smashing windows and even puncturing car tires.
