Tedisco meets with Republican National Committee chairman
NEW YORK -- The special election in the 20th Congressional District is getting national attention. The Republican National Committee chair visited Jim Tedisco.

The newly named RNC Chair, Michael Steele, came to Albany to endorse the Assembly Minority leader in his run for congress. He has made the race for the 20th a must win for republicans and has promised Tedisco all of the resources he needs to be competitive against democrat Scott Murphy.

Steele is also calling on Governor Paterson to set a date for the election, something he says could help the Governor gain back some popularity after the bumpy appointment process in replacing Hillary Clinton in the Senate.

"Let’s get it done. We get the process, we get the politics, which is all in good, but the reality of it is there is a window of opportunity here, much like we saw played out in the Blagojevich situation in Illinois. You don't want this thing to become a circus. You don't want it to become something that people lose faith and trust in the candidates running," Steele said.

On the democratic side of things, Scott Murphy was in Washington Wednesday meeting with Senator Gillibrand.

Meanwhile, the first shot coming from the dems as the DCCC criticized Tedisco's use of his state car. Tedisco says the use of the car is for when he has to travel outside of the district while serving as Assembly Minority Leader.
