ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - State Sen. Pedro Espada says he has complied with Attorney General Andrew Cuomo's subpoena for records about janitorial services at his Bronx health clinics and that Cuomo's allegations of possible wrongdoing are false, politically motivated and constitute prosecutorial misconduct.

In response to court papers filed last month to compel records from Soundview Management Enterprises, Espada says the for-profit company he owns was the low competitive bidder for the janitorial contract at nonprofit clinic Soundview Health Care Network, where he's founder and president.

A hearing is scheduled next week before a judge in Manhattan. Spokesman John Milgrim says the attorney general's office won't comment outside court.
