ELMONT, N.Y. -- "I'll Have Another" draws a familiar post position for Saturday's Belmont Stakes as the horse makes a bid for racing's triple crown.
The horse will start from the 11th spot in the 12 horse field. The draw was announced Wednesday morning at Belmont.
The horse drew the 19th position out of 20 in the Kentucky Derby and started ninth out of 11 in the Preakness Stakes. While starting near the outside may be a familiar spot for "I'll Have Another," the draw may not bode well for those hoping to see history. Only twice in Belmont Stakes history has a horse starting from the 11th position won the race.
"I'll Have Another" is currently a 4-to-5 favorite to become the first triple crown winner since "Affirmed" in 1978.
