ALBANY, N.Y. -- The implications from a rough weekend for the UAlbany football team are still being felt by the Great Danes.
Not only did Saturday's shutout loss to Wagner drop UAlbany out of first place in the NEC, but the Danes are now outside the Top 25 for both polls for the first time in nearly a month.
UAlbany was ranked 18th in the Coaches Poll and 20th in the Sports Network Poll. The first conference loss doesn't mean the end of the world, but it does give the Danes an uphill climb to try and claim a conference title.
Albany no longer controls their own destiny. The road to redemption starts on Saturday at Duquesne.
