ALBANY, N.Y. -- With the NHL lockout continuing, Stephen Gionta is coming back to the Albany Devils.

The 29-year-old has signed an AHL contract. He's the Devils' AHL leader in points, goals assists, shots and games played.

Gionta was a key contributor to New Jersey's run to the Stanley Cup Finals last spring. If the lockout ends, Gionta would re-join the New Jersey Devils.
