WEST POINT, N.Y. -- It was a victory for the Black Knights as Army defeated Morgan State in the football season opener at Michie Stadium.
Army fans showed up in large crowds to celebrate the 124th season of Army football. According to those fans, the experience of a game at West Point is unlike anything else.
"We've got a family tie. I played here. My son plays here now, so we've got that tie. You look around, you see the view. You know what these guys are going to do after the season and after they graduate, so that's what makes it so special," said one Army fan. "They're doing this because they love playing ball and they realize they have bigger things after this."
Another fan added, "I've been coming here ever since I was a little kid. 25 years I've been coming up here. Enjoy every minute of it. Not a lot of wins, but I enjoy it anyway. Makes me want to keep coming back."
The Black Knights defeated Morgan State, 28-12. Army faces Ball State next weekend.
