The Orange are headed to the Elite Eight for the first time since 2003. Syracuse survived Wisconsin Thursday night in Boston. Our Brad Vivacqua caught up with fans who made the trip and watched their team go down to the wire.

“They play a good defense. They’re a slowdown team but the way we move the ball and the way we play a team that they haven’t seen before I think we could take them out,” said SU fan Matt Tessier.

And take Wisconsin out is what the Orange did, using scoring spurts to outscore the Badgers by a single point. Despite Wisconsin's hot 3-point shooting, the Orange were able to overcome a tough challenge.

“You know they’ve been doing it this way all year. They’ve been making it so exciting. At the very last minute they finally pull through. And tonight was just like all of those other and thank goodness it went our way,” said SU fan Ruth Ann Shoot.

You have to admit the Orange certainly got some help from their best 6th-man of the night. A loud pro-Orange crowd.

“There was more SU than Wisconsin and they were really into the whole game. It was a real good game,” said SU fan Jan Linville.

In the end, the Orange and the SU faithful did what they needed to do as the ‘Cuse is now a game away from reaching the Final Four.

The Marist women's basketball team was one three-pointer away from keeping their season alive against St. Bonaventure. But instead, the Red Foxes lost another heartbreaker in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, for the second year in a row. Sports Director Marisa Jacques takes a look back at the end of the ride for Marist.

Despite the season ending loss, many Marist fans came out to a viewing party Tuesday night at the school's student center to show their support for the Lady Red Foxes. Our Christian Farrell has the story.

The Syracuse Orange are getting closer to tipoff in their Sweet 16 matchup in the NCAA Tournament. SU will take on the Wisconsin Badgers at 7:15 p.m. at the TD Garden in Boston. Our Brad Vivacqua is in Boston for all the excitement.

BOSTON, Mass. -- Just by hanging around the arena Thursday morning, it’s evident there are a lot more basketball fans in town right now than on Wednesday. Orange fans are excited about SU's matchup against Wisconsin.

In addition to Orange fans, there are quite a few hoop lovers that made the drive from the state of Ohio. Ohio has four teams in this year’s Sweet 16, including Ohio State, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Xavier. This year marks the first year ever that as many as four teams from one state have made the Sweet 16.

Two of the four, Cincinnati and Ohio State, are in Boston and will play following the SU game.

"It’s exciting as a native of Ohio. It’s a good time to be an Ohio basketball fan. You know you have Ohio University which is always a nice story with a smaller school, you know mid-major making it in. But, for some of the bigger name programs it's exciting to be back on the stage and represent, twenty five percent of the Sweet 16," said Cincinnati fan Brad Wurthman.

That Cincinnati fan also said he was happy that the Bearcats are in Boston.

The winner of the Cincy-Ohio State game would play Syracuse Saturday if the Orange gets by Wisconsin.
