Scrapbook marathon

Scrapbook marathon
It's one of the fastest growing hobbies in the nation and Saturday dozens of people in Watertown decided to devote a day to it.

More than 50 people took part in a 12 hour scrapbook marathon to benefit the American Cancer Society.

For $35, scrapbookers got a chance to turn old photos into a work of art.

Participants were given goody bags with supplies along with an opportunity to purchase decorations from local vendors.

Some of those people told us, scrapbooks are a great way to organize a life's worth of memories.

"For years I've tried to keep my photos organized in albums and I was pretty poor at doing them. But when you do it in a scrapbook you add your memories, you journal and you write down. It's just fun to look at and share with other people because you got the personal touch instead of just pictures," said Jean Doell, who enjoys scrapbooking.

The event raised more than $2,000.
