Ten different trainers and nine different jocks made it to the winner's circle Friday. The lone two-time winner was jockey Ramon Dominguez, who pushed his meet-leading total to 32 victories.

  • NYRA got a ton of mileage out of Mariano Rivera's appearance at the track. He drew a horde of media to a press conference prior to the program and addressed the fans from the winner's circle after the third race.

  • Saratoga native Terri Pompay picked up her third victory of the season with Insolvent ($9.10) in the fifth. Fair to say that Pompay is hot at the Spa with three wins from eight starts, 37.5 percent, and five of eight finishing in the top three, 62.5 percent.

  • Five of the 10 races were won by favorites and the percentage for the meet is inching up toward 35 percent. Still, Quick Wit ($23.80) in the featured Hall of Fame stakes thinned out the Pick Six. There were only three correct tickets, worth $68,539 each.

  • Attendance of 16,935 was down 28 percent for the same day in 2011. Four races were taken off the turf resulting in nine races run on a sloppy, sealed track and on-track handle was down 23 percent to $2,703,014. The total handle of $11,640,670 was off four percent.
