Vigil held for missing boy

Vigil held for missing boy
SALEM, N.Y. -- It has been more than a week since anyone has seen Jaliek Rainwalker and neighbors are holding out hope the 12 year old will be found safe.

Dozens gathered for a vigil at the Salem Methodist Church Friday night to pray.

The boy disappeared on November 1st from a home in Greenwich. He was last seen wearing a yellow fleece pullover and jeans.

About 100 officers from multiple agencies have searched the area this week.

Jaliek's adoptive parents declined to speak on camera but they did tell the Post-Star that he might have hitched a ride to New York City or may be in the Vermont or Albany area.

Jaliek's grandfather says people in the area are keeping their spirits up.

“We want to thank everyone for coming to vigil in Salem it was a great showing of support for our grandson and our family, thank you,“ said Grahme Kerr.

Of course, if you have seen Jaliek give police a call.
