COHOES, N.Y. -- Shawn Grant's five-month-old son Siyahn sits happily on his mom Bernice's lap. But he probably doesn't understand what has happened to his dad. Troy Police said someone murdered Grant and then dumped his body in the Hudson River.

"I will always remembering him holding his son," said Bernice Mullins.

Mullins said the last night she saw Grant was on November 30th. That night he was arrested on a drunk driving charge. The next day he was supposed to be in Troy City Court, but he never made it.

The day before Easter, his decomposed body was found at the end of Madison Street. It was spotted on the edge of a concrete slab along the river's banks.

"For him to be found in the water with all of his clothes on with them concrete blocks tied to his body and why, he never did anything anybody. You can't even look at someone in their casket because you had him in the bottom of the river for however long," said Mullins.

Mullins said while he was born in Brooklyn, he had lived in the Capital Region for many years. After Grant was declared missing by police, she, along with her sister and brother-in-law, tried to get the word out and find out what happened to him.

"I felt like now my baby doesn't have a father and whoever did that to him knows that," said Mullins.

Now with Grant being found, the family wants people to know the man they knew. They said he was a good father that loved his family and friends just as much as they loved him.

And they said no one should have to die the way he did.

"I just hope he is in a better place and not suffering anymore and no one has to worry about him anymore," said Mullins.

Mullins said she's surprised they didn't find his body when divers searched the river for Jaliek Rainwalker in February, but,said at least their family has closure.
