GREENWICH, N.Y. -- Jaliek Rainwalker doesn't know these people and none of them are from Greenwich, but they've traveled far from home to raise money to keep the search for the missing 12-year-old alive.

"There's a lot of people out there with caring hearts. We have all come together on a common ground," said volunteer Sandra LaCrosse.

“Just keeping his name out in the public. You'd do it for any kid, not just Jaliek,” volunteer Richard LaCrosse said.

This fundraiser was the start of Find Jaliek Day. The day was organized by the Find Jaliek Task Force, which was created by Rainwalker's grandparents and former foster parents.

The Find Jaliek Task Force asked people who live along bodies of water, from the Batten Kill to the Hudson River in Troy, to search their land one more time. As for people searching for a way to connect to or comment on the case, the blogs have been the place to be.

“Just a bunch of ladies and men out there talking about Jaliek keeping his name in the public, trying to keep people looking for him at all times,” said Sandra LaCrosse.

“Someone will come up with an idea for a bake sale or a pizza night to raise money and do it,” said volunteer Jodi.

A half a dozen different websites are following the case with some postings getting hundreds of comments. The comments range from speculation about what happened, to getting the word out about events. Blogs have also connected concerned people to others looking to help, like the LaCrosse's and Jodi, who never knew each other until today.
