Obama clinches nomination; "no decision" yet from Clinton
US -- Tuesday night, Barack Obama clinched the Democratic presidential nomination.

“Tonight, after 54 hard-fought contests, our primary season has finally come to an end,” Obama said.

It ended with a split decision. Obama won Montana. Hillary Clinton took South Dakota.

Clinton spoke before supporters on her home turf, not willing to concede just yet.

“Now the question is, where do we go from here? And given how far we've come and where we need to go as a party, it's a question I don't take lightly. This has been a long campaign and I will be making no decisions tonight,” Clinton said.

Clinton did not mention it in her speech, but she told fellow New York lawmakers she's open to running for vice president. She also did not acknowledge Obama is her party's nominee.

She said, “Senator Obama has inspired so many Americans to care about politics and inspired so many more to get involved and our country and our democracy are better because of it.”

Obama also had kind words for Clinton. His attacks are now geared toward John McCain. He spoke in St. Paul, Minnesota, at the same arena Republicans will hold their convention.

“I respect his many accomplishments, even if he chooses to deny mine. My differences with him are not personal; they are with the policies he has proposed in this campaign,” said Obama.

Both Obama and Clinton talked about unifying Democrats. After a hard-fought, 16-month primary battle, bringing their supporters together won't be an easy task. Having Clinton in the number two spot could make it easier.

Of course, for Clinton to be Obama's running mate, he first has to offer her the job. So we will look for any signs of unity between the two over the next few days.
